Margaret Silf Returns!

THE OTHER SIDE OF CHAOS:
Trusting God when Life is Breaking Down

When our relationships break down, when we suffer loss of employment or of financial stability, when our loved ones are taken away due to disease or death, we, like Tobit and Job, can become blind to God’s loving hand guiding us to something new. Margaret will help us keep our eyes fixed on the Lord, instead of straining back to the seeming comfort of our past.

Margaret Silf is passionate about making Christian spirituality, especially Ignatian spirituality, accessible to people with no theological background. Her writing reflects her experiential approach, drawing connections between the eternal truths of Christian vision and the moment-by moment choices and events of daily life. Her latest titles are Wise Choices and Roots and Wings.

Friday, May 29, 2015, 7 - 9 pm;
Saturday, May 30, 2015, 9 am - 4 pm (please bring a lunch),
followed by Sunday Vigil Mass, from 4 - 5 pm;
Sunday, May 31, 2015, 9 am-12 pm (optional sharing session)

at Loyola High School, 7272 Sherbrooke St. West

Cost:
$60

finding the balance in Christian service & leadership

In an interactive way, we will explore the balance in our own lives of service, increase our awareness about how we make decisions and how to find balance in our busy lives.

Journeying Through the Valley...

...Guided conversations for those who are Grieving

Thursdays March 12 through May 7 (with a break during Holy Week)
7:00 – 8:30 pm
Ignatian Spirituality Centre, with Reverend Jan Jorgensen
$100 for eight sessions – note: no one is turned away for lack of funds

We will employ an eclectic approach to holding and honouring our grief. We will share our stories of the lives that have touched our own as well as draw upon insights of others who have explored the world of bereavement and grief. Our time together will be supported by an acknowledgment of the One Who loves us and understands our suffering.

After the death of a significant person in her life, Jan Jorgensen trained in a pilot hospice program in Dutchess County, NY (1982). A graduate of Yale Divinity School, she has pastored in both churches and senior residences. In 1999 she earned a certificate from the Grief
Recovery® Institute in Toronto, and is currently a member of the On-going Spiritual Direction course here at the Centre.

For more information, please contact Jan at 514 725-5047.
