New Program offered by Fr. Krull

A contemplative program in everyday life for those who have a longing for a simpler and more direct union with God, having meditated on Scripture with satisfaction, but feel an increasing frustration and inability to go on doing so.

The program involves following a detailed guidebook, giving an hour a day to contemplative meditation, and meeting the director about once a week.

Fr. Krull, S.J., has been directing this type of contemplative meditation for many years in India.

“Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). This seminar is about stopping and slowing down, stepping outside the chaos of our lives to reframe and hopefully re-engage in a refreshed manner. Together we hope to explore and acquire some basic tools that can help us reestablish critical balance in an upside-down topsy-turvy world.

Fr. Chircop is an artist at heart and loves all things beautiful and soulful. He believes that beauty is a uniquely wonderful entry into the mystery of the God "whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere.”

For more information or to register, please contact the Ignatian Centre.

In an interactive way, the course
- explores “balance” in our own lives of service,
- increases awareness about how we make decisions,
- teaches how to find “balance” in our busy lives

This workshop is sponsored by the Anglican Spiritual Direction Group of the Diocese and the Ignatian Spirituality Centre of Montreal.

At the close of this shared day, all are invited to attend a prayer service of Thanksgiving for the ministry of spiritual direction, with licensing of Anglican spiritual directors by Bishop Barry Clarke.

Theology of Conversion, Damian Zynda, Th.D.

Christian conversion and psychological development go hand-in-hand. Spiritual Direction is the ministry of assisting another in their own conversion toward God.

As a point of departure, we will consider conversion through the theology of Bernard Lonergan. Then we will examine Ignatius of Loyola’s lifetime of spiritual conversions and psychological development. Finally, we will examine the movements of conversion through the Spiritual Exercises.

This seminar will provide opportunity for participants to reflect on their own journey of conversion.
